I appreciate that the staff are personally trying to find ways to live their values in their own lives, whether its people being vegan, or committing to riding bikes to work, or investing responsibly, or trying not to buy clothing directly from suppliers that use sweat shops. It’s not like we’re perfect, but we’re trying. It’s important to try to be true to your values not just in the heady high-level policy work but also in the small personal things.
I did a cross country tour in 2009 and when I was in college I helped to establish a nonprofit community bike shop in St. Paul, MN.
